The Towel Folder is an advanced towel folding machine designed to efficiently sort and fold a wide variety of textile items.

Versatile Folding Capabilities

The Towel Folder can sort and fold an extensive range of items, including towels, fitted sheets, garments (T-shirts, nightgowns, uniforms, hospital clothing), and laundry bags. It handles dried pieces up to 2400mm in length.

Enhanced Feeding and Operation

Its powerful feeding conveyor is height-adjustable, accommodating both short and tall operators. The extended conveyor provides a better grip for longer towels, improving feeding efficiency.

Robust and User-Friendly Design

The Towel Folder features a minimal number of moving parts and is constructed from standard components, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. The latest version offers improved adjustment possibilities when replacing drive belts.

Automated Stacking and Delivery

Once folded, items are sent to a dedicated, programmable stacker station. When the desired stack height is reached, the pile is precisely transferred to the final delivery belt (included). This belt can be positioned on either the left or right side and delivers piles to the front or rear of the machine.

Intelligent Sorting Features

The Towel Folder automatically sorts pieces based on length, eliminating the need for pre-sorting. Optionally, it can also sort by width for items of the same length requiring different folding methods. Optional photocells in the feeder allow for sorting based on color for identically sized items. Transferon has also developed an ecological version of the towel folder.

Precision Folding Mechanism

Primary folds are achieved using a pulsed airflow. The machine measures the length of the piece as it enters, then selects from multiple folding patterns. Folding templates are automatically positioned, and pulsed air spray nozzles create tight, precise folds around them. The long primary fold can accommodate pieces up to 2400mm.

The Towel Folder is equipped with two cross-fold sections. Each cross-fold is performed by reversing belts in combination with an air pulse, resulting in very precise and tight folds. Various cross-folding patterns can be programmed, and a bypass option (no cross-fold) is also available.

Advanced Stacking and Interconnection

After folding, pieces are stacked on dedicated stacker stations. The Towel Folder comes standard with three stacker stations, with an optional fourth station and different width stackers available. Once the preset stack height is reached, the pile is transferred to the final delivery belt with a perfectly straight alignment.

For larger operations, two Towel Folder machines can be interconnected in a master/slave configuration. Piles from both machines are then directed onto a single final delivery belt, allowing for automatic transfer to a central conveyor leading to a packing/wrapping or sorting area.

Intuitive Control System

The Towel Folder utilizes a PLC-based control system operated via an easy-to-use 7-inch color touch screen. The responsive, high-resolution screen makes creating and modifying folding programs simple. The control system can be easily connected to the internet for worldwide online support.

Folding pattern recipes can be selected by program number or by client. Optional barcode readers, RFID readers, or integration with overhead bag system controls can be used for recipe and client selection. The Towel Folder can store and buffer production data within the machine, which can then be written to a central database for further processing or reporting. The machine is also prepared for integration with Smart conveyors.
